Introduction to folk harp Workshop
to be offered August 16th, 2008
in Hooksett, NH
Sunday, August 16th, 2008 :

part 1,  10am-12 , and part 2 from 1-4pm

If you like harp music, you will probably love playing one! The harp is an ancient instrument, one of the oldest of string instruments and one of most friendly instruments to play. In little time, you will be playing and enjoying the instrument, and if you desire, you can continue to study the harp for the rest of your life.

 

De Luna receives great pleasure in de-mystifying the harp for you, creating a comfortable atmosphere where you can learn and explore. We will explore some of the rich folklore and traditions of the Harp, as well as encourage you to enjoying making beautiful sounds and music with the harp while learning technique, finger positions, music theory and playing songs. 

 This workshop is for age 12 and older.
Part 1 is for people who have absolutely no experience with the harp. We will cover some of the technical aspects of the harp such as: tuning, changing strings and some harp folklore.
Part 2   for those who want to play the harp and have not played before. We will work with finger positions, technique, songs as well as reading music and music theory.      

Fee- Part 1 $35 each session,
 Part 2 -$45 each session
 BOTH PART 1 AND 2- $75   can be done on different days.
***Pre-paid registrations are required.

Harps will be available for use and for sale at workshop.

No experience required.
